CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Eastern Kentucky men's and women's cross country teams claimed team titles on Saturday at the 2008 Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championships held at the Jaycee Golf Course and hosted by Southeast Missouri State University.

On the women's side it was the 23rd OVC title for Eastern Kentucky, who has won the last three championships. The program has claimed all but seven of the titles since the championship was first run in 1979. The top three places were decided by just nine points, making it the closest OVC Championship since the 2001 meet (which saw the top three teams separated by six points).  EKU finished with 50 teams points followed closely by Murray State (55) and host Southeast Missouri (59).  Tennessee Tech was fourth (113), followed by Eastern Illinois (117), Morehead State (173), Austin Peay (187), UT Martin (205), Jacksonville State (229) and Tennessee State (296).
